It sounds like you will need to change the security settings in IE 8 before you go to that web site so the warnng won't pop up and block the box you need to log in to your secure site.

In Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Level > Custom
go through the script settings and enable scripting - this is just for sites that you have added to your trusted list so be sure you add the site you are trying to log in to exactly as the URL appears in your browser bar. It is most likely an ActiveX script so be srue you allow ActiveX scripts without prompting. But ONLY for trusted sites.
