Last year I tried to produce hybrid tomatoes. I took pollen from Beefsteak and applied pollen to a grape tomato. Out of all my attempts only 1 grape tomato actually grew and ripened. I took the
seeds from that and am
growing plants from it right now, along with plants from the beeftsteak (pure beefsteak though)
I noticed on my beefsteak some
flowers have either very long styles, or very short anthers, because the stigma sticks out a good inch on some of the
flowers.
I then noticed on my grape "hybrid" some of it's
flowers have the same exact thing, and I never remember a grape tomato
flower having these traits, even on google I havent found a grape tomato
flower yet with this.
My other tomato's I am
growing do not have these issues, so that eliminates and diseases.
Do you think I might have actually made a hybrid?
