Probable causes of Blossom drop [See Tamara's comment about temperature]

Night temperatures too low (below 55*F)

Day temperatures too high (above 90*F)

Smog during blossoming period

Excess Nitrogen fertilizer

Shaded by trees or buildings (not getting enough light)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keep soil moderately moist
Tapping on blossom stems 3x a week in midday when flowers are open may help set fruit
Early blossoms do not consistently set fruit
Yup, the heat is causing the blossom drop...
It has been unusually hot in New York this year, and my tomatoes are all producing just fine. (I grew them all from seed, from last years crop) I do know in the US there was some tomato disease that spread from infested stock sent to the US, it's still out there, and can cause fruit dropping, but it has greatly been reduced.
Seriously, try growing tomatoes from seed, it is worth the effort, saves you money, and you always get healthy,fresh tomatoes than from the store.
I've had the same problem this year. big healty plants, lots of blooms, but no friut. my blooms don't fall off they just aren't producing. It's always this hot this time of year, so I'm a little confused as to whats going on with my too. I'm thinking it might be because I waited longer than usual to put my plants (from seed) in the garden?
We found a trick to help this at least here in SC. Crush up a calcium pill (cheap in short supply a tums), 2 tsp of white vinegar, into a gallon of water and let it sit overnight to absorb somewhat. Stir it up in the morning and water the whole plant (leaves, roots). Do this about once a month and blossom end rot should at least be reduced or eliminated. Takes about 2-3 weeks to get results. It is better to start them on this when first planted so you do not have this problem.
