Well, the sun came out...thanks for sending it. It got so hot that the grass partially dried and out I went..I cut and weedwacked like there was no tomorrow...calling for rain for the next 4 days again.

My horse is sick...took a bad reaction to a Tetanus shot. DH is gone for medicine right now, avoiding a big vet bill..thankfully he knows the large animal vet well and assisted him quite a few times...it's always something rolz

Oh and I ran over a mouse today with the lawn tractor, I tried to avoid him but egad ...one less mouse in the field tonight.

wavy Anyone home? I'm thinking about dinner. I get a free pizza because the last time I ordered they messed it up. I'm thinking about cashing that in since I don't have anything else to eat. Need to go shopping but lacking the motivation.

I'm back again..just had to go back up to the barn...third calf was just born, another little bull. What a long day it has been. Got the medicine for the horse a 7 day treatment mixed with a jug of molasses..he's happy lol

Pizza sounds good, yum. It's 9:40pm and I still never ate supper yet..I had cooked lots but they ate it all thinking I already ate myself. rolz Wish we had a 'take-out' nearby.

Maxi is away at his dad's for the weekend. The house is so strangely quiet without him.

My friends from a town an hour away stopped by this evening when they were in my area. It was a brief visit, but nice.

While they were here, the husband put my a/c in the bedroom window for me, thankfully! So I will sleep cool tonight.

Sorry to hear about the ankle Tina, hope it heals quickly. It's only 10:20am here so still morning. I'm working on my first cup of coffee. Got the dishes loaded into the dishwasher. I refused to do them yesterday, lol Didn't have pizza last night, instead Aros too me out for mexican, we had steak fajitas. Today I get to go see Kooza! bop Eventually I'll be making breakfast for Aros and me, not quite hungry yet though. My mom's not picking me up for a few more hours so I have plenty of time for relaxing, eating, etc.

kissie Tina..hope you heal fast.

Spent the morning removing weeds and hand tilling my veggie plot. My strawberry bed keeps getting tore up from the neighbors cats, so I moved the few plants that were left to the veggie plot and will fence in the bed later and try grow tomatoes there..not like tomatoes grow well here but every year I try lol

Raining again..at least I got my chores finished before it hit. Planting veggie seeds on Monday grin

Today is my day to play "catch up" and that is just what I am doing.

yes it is tough on both counts---he said he will be looking for a job in IL this time around--because the unemployment insurance is much better here. we would have about $100.00 more a week if he were drawing from IL instead of missouri---and then it would be more like a vacation

and then there is medical insurance that we have to pay---I have no idea how they expect unemployed people to pay that price--but ya know I cannot afford to lose the house either---
Ok I am done now----

Enjoy supper--

We have Tornado warnings to the west. They just did a information announcement on TV because we usually do not get tornados in Maine.

I need to get a 6 inch notebook to record all the important information for our trip. I've got it all on bits and pieces scattered here and there. So, I should compile it ahead of time.

My sister is bringing her laptop to Washington, so I will be able to post at least a few comments and pictures during the week. I need to ask Diane what type of memory stick this camera uses so I can take lots and lots of photos. After the trip I want to put together a handsome album for Maxi.

One good thing about Nancy driving down is that she is going to stop at the grocery on her way and pick up snacks (fruit & bagged) and drinks. That way, we'll have some yummy treats in our room for late night snacking & won't have to pay tourist prices for something to drink while we are out & about. Plus, with the car, she can pack the iron & I won't have to put mine in a suitcase. (Maxi's dress shirts will need pressed for the competition.)

Maxi's best friend Dom has come over yesterday & today to bring the mail in for me. He is a good kid. And, he's been worrying about Maxi's exams this morning. I haven't heard from Maxi yet but his dad had a pretty tight schedule for them today.

Tornadoes..yikes. The weather has been a real mess everywhere.

So glad Nancy is going to help you out...Maxi must be excited.

On another note, I must go check on my baby cows grin

Yes, a tornado can be a very frightening thing, I know. But we usually do not get very big ones here in Maine; not like in Tornado Alley.

How are all the baby calves doing?

I bet Maxi is getting wxcited more and more every day, isnt he???
and I just bet his mom is to, huh??? lol
I am glad things are beginning to work out for you both. sounds like things are comimg together very nicely.

Tamara--how are the little Calves coming along ??---I think calves are so cute.
I used to play with them when I was a child.

and not to worry about us, we are far from alone, I am sure.
I just thank God that we do not have house or car payments.
I do however appreciate your prayers. That makes me feel better all in itself.

The calves are doing good, kicking up their heels already..it's so strange though. Last years calves are scared of this years, the little ones chase the bigger ones all around the barn yard...too funny.

My horse is alot better, the vet gave us a 7 day treatment for him, he is sprier already. Who thought a tetanus shot could make an animal so sick?

DD is gone to visit a friend for the evening...I should be doing something but am just to tired. I have to stop getting up so early lol

I'm glad the calves are doing good, Tam. Too funny about the scared bigger ones running away from them! lol

I never dreamed tentanus could make a horse so sick! It is great he is getting better.

You deserve a rest, so sit here and visit a while.

well, sometimes shots can make people ill, so I guess the same holds true to animals--who knew ????

Glad DD got to go put visiting for a bit.
I think that is what you should do--sit and visit--that is really what "after supper" is for, ya know----

I'm having a last cup of coffee and some toast.

Tomorrow we have church and then the annual picnic. So, when my girl arrives, I must be ready to go out the door.... we gotta stop at the grocery to pick up a watermelon, then bring it home & stick it in the fridge. My pal Angel will pick it up on her way to town for the picnic. After we drop the melon off here, I must go get Maxi and then be at church by 10. We'll be in a rush, that's for sure!

But our Dean is going on Sabbatical for the summer, so this is his last Sunday with us until the fall. We want to wish him a fare-thee-well in fine style.

It has cooled off here, but it is still humid and there are still storms in the area.

Yesterday afternoon, there were wild storms in the area with much damage. Today isn't supposed to be as bad, but I guarantee you our annual "picnic" has been moved indoors! lol

Gotta go pick up Maxi.

See you all later!

Great day everyone!

I sprained my ankle on Thursday. I did the RICE thing (rest, ice, compression, elevation). I have really been babying it because I do not want a long drawn out thing or a weak ankle/foot. I am using crutches and still really caring for it. It is very interesting because I have never really done anything this bad before.
I sat up on the hill hoping John wasn't watching because I was always ragging on him for not taking care of himself. I think he tripped me! shock
I have a very fat foot with some interesting colors. I can walk on it OK painlessly. But with pain if I step or twist it a little wrong. But I am not putting all of my weight on it. I am being careful.

It would have been nicer if he would have just rained you out instead
