I'm trying to free some space on my already small hard drive but I really don't know which programs are necessary to keep and which ones I can delete. There are 4 microsoft.net files that I was wondering if I could get rid of. There are some other micrsoft files that I don't understand what they are or what they do. If you have any other tips or ideas of what to get rid of please let me know. Thanks a million!

Hey-- It's been quite some since I've used a PC, but you might try defraging. That usually frees up some space. Just MHO but I'd delete files before I started deleting programs. Oh! There's a thing in control panel that sorts programs and tells you how often they've been used. It gives you the option to uninstall programs that you don't use. Maybe a PC expert will come along and give you better advise.

Well, best case is "don't delete it unless you know what you're deleting"... It's really hard to know what you need on the system that's been installed without knowing what everything is.

Best bet is to only delete what you've installed after receiving the system and even then just what you've installed.

BTW, hard drives are dirt cheap now adays as compared to what they used to cost, both external and internal.
