Maxi has been learning to grill, so we've been having grilled meals.

Tonight was cheeseburgers along w/ vegetable kabobs. I made fried potatoes w/ mushrooms, onions & bell peppers indoors to go with. Later we had strawberry shortcake --- a rare treat to have dessert!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Dodge ~ kielbasa soup is .... beef broth, kielbasa sliced thin into discs, shredded cabbage, diced potatoes & carrots, and spaghetti noodles broken into 1 1/2 inch pieces. YUMMY! You can also add diced tomatoes....

Merme:

1) I have never had lobster---what does it taste like???
2) I have not had kielbasa soup since I was a small child. I can still see it and I can still taste it--yummy indeed.
where do I buy the kielbasa--
I assume that you do not mean polish sausage, right??.
I guess what i ate could have been homemade meat with the casing removed....

Just simple cut pork chops grilled..I made a dry rub with onion powder, paprika and pepper, grilled about 7-10 minutes on each side..then added maple syrup mixed with some mustard to finish it off for the last few minutes.

I have so many recipe ideas in my head..I just throw stuff together and it usually turns out pretty good.

you should type up all of your ideas and then add a few common sense things like how long to boil an egg to make it hard bolied (things like that)--and of course family recipes.
then tack them together with rings or brads & give one to your DD as a gift. perhaps other young family members as well.

and yo ucould sit grandma down & copy HER recipies down --type mup & then have grandma sign them---& do the same with her recipes.

great gifts !!

I typed my family & my favorite recipes, put each finished page in a sheet prtector & then added these to a white school binder from Wal-mart.

I then typed a front page up & added it to the pocket of the front cover of the binder.--great gifts

I have tried that Carol..I started copying them all to computer files, and lost them all when my computer crashed. I should start again on paper. Grandma's recipes are all in her head and I've written down a bit as she can remember..it's a shame a lot will be lost.

I have a notebook here that S-I-L made of my M-I-L's recipes when she passed, she just photocopied all the scraps and pieces in her drawer and binded them up..

Today will be stuffed chicken breasts with new potatoes.

Sandwiches are the meal of the season here. Jonni has been doing a lot of grilled cheese and experimenting with additions. So far she likes them with grilled spam, bacon, and hard salami and pepperoni. She is mixing up the types of cheese used also. I am glad to see her cooking. (and cleaning up after herself).

I love sandwiches, DH doesn't think of them as a meal.

We had the funeral luncheon the other day, sandwiches, dips, fruit/veg platters, sweets and cakes, coffee and tea so we ate there at 5pm... When we got home at 6pm, DH asked..uh what are you cooking for supper?

yep--he sounds like m y DH. IF I given him a sandwich it had better just be a side to the REAL meal. abnd he wil not eat soup more than one night in a row.
so I usually have grilled cheese sandwiches & the like for MY lunch.

last night was breakfast steak, mashed potatoes & corn on the cob.

Tonight will be brats, a veggie & some kind of potato--well unless there is enough left overs form last night

Tamara--I usually know right way in the morning what we are having as well. One has to thaw out the meat after all...
