I saw a couple of really cool birds this morning. I've never seen any like them before. (but of course, I'm no bird expert!) they were flying in large circles around a water puddle in our drive way. it has been very dry here. they were fast and reminded me of the way bats fly except without the dropping and rising - just the round and round very quickly. even their wings seemed a bit 'bat like' in shape. they were dark blue or black on thier backs and a neutral to yellow on thier bellies. from what I could tell that was the only color. I did some searching on 'what bird' website but couldn't find anything. any ideas?

Sounds like a Barn Swallow to me....I see them all the time at the golf course. They are so quick....I've never been able to get a picture of them.

That just might be it! they were so quick it was hard to compare what I saw to what the pic looked like, but if they fly similar to a bat, I'd put money on it! thanks iggygal.

Yep, Barn Swallow, typical colors and behavior.
Kingdoms RAGE and go to war...but the PEasants plant potatoes.. EARTH FIRST! (we'll strip-mine the OTHER planets later.)
