Can someone give me a tip on how to plant TINY seeds outdoors? I.e. snapdragons, Cleome, Moss rose, sneezeweed? Just anything in general on how to plant an area on a garden with seeds. Anything. why

I sound desperate don't I? prayers

I bought some potting soil, I will till the area and then use some of the fine potting soil on top - just because it's 'finer' and then what? Just sprinkle them and thin later or ??? The seeds are just sooooooooo tiny! rspb

i just cut the top off the seed packet and tap the seeds out, you can always thin later, theres also a gaget you can buy for tiny seeds, most tiny seeds you dont cover just press. or scater and rake in.
cleomes i dont conciter tiny, they do need coved.
good luck :)

I agree. That is what I did when I planted my onions. Those seeds were so tiny.I just sprinkled them then lightly pressed them into the soil and lightly covered with soil. Good luck!!!! !!!

Mix the seeds with a little bit of sand and then sprinkle it over the soil.

Good idea alanhart.

Try it farmgirl, but those little seeds are a tough one, I usually start them inside so that I can transplant them later.

I work up the soil & sprinkle the tiny seeds into it. Then I make sure I water the soil everyday & keep it damp. I usually water early in the morning. You asked about the morning glory seeds. I find it easier to start them outdoors when the soil is warm. I work up the soil, cover the morning glory seeds & water them everyday also. Moisture, & warm soil is what will make the seeds germinate.
