Wrennie, so cool. I like the way you have your rocks displayed. I also like the idea of your mailbox garden. I can't wait to see how your lovely open range garden progresses!

Wrennie, is that a cage around your sedum? Do yours fall over. Mine are sturdy. I've never had to use a cage. I used to know the name of mine but I can't think of it now.

Loz I think you're right! I knew it was a L word but couldnt remember.
Triss you cant put a shovel in the ground without hitting loads of rocks. Bring as many empty suitcases as you can and fill them up!
Diane that sedum the little willies are in is the same kind I sent you.spreads like crazy if you let it.
Sheri that is a peony ring around my sedum. By mid summer it looks like someone sat in the center of it if I dont use that ring. And wherever a branch hits the ground it roots and more babies. Someone ID it as Autumn joy, but Ithought aut. joy was much more stand up rigid.

They grow wild in Maine, the pine tree state, so I think they like a real acid soil. It took me a while to get a couple established. I wont call them easy to grow. And they have a real long tap root and dont like to be moved once established.

When you drive through Nova Scotia, Lupines are everywhere. Along the ditches, in the fields. very pretty sight.

That's so pretty Wrennie! The lupine. I just bought one at the nursery the other day, hope it takes for me.

I have several A. Joy Sedum and mine are the same color as yours so I'd say that's what it is!

Very nice, Wrennie!

Lupine are EVERYWHERE in Alaska - they are mostly deep blue and are soooooooooooo pretty! I miss them, but have never been able to establish any here in NY - good job Wrennie - LOVE the color!

One of my autumn sedum joy needs staking too here, but the others don't - I don't know why, but it would be sprawled out all over the ground if I didn't put a ring around it like Wrennie!

Thanks Triss. Just wait its still early. The mallow is only a couple feet tall, it'll be 8 feet when it blooms, the sunflowers, & pinecone ginger havent started to show off yet, and the bee balm will get about 1 foot taller then bloom. The rose campion, evening primrose a lily and ecchinacea all are getting buds. so the show begins soon!
And ignore the really tall grass in the last pic. Wacker broke.
