Hello, I have a Pachira and a small part on its trunk is soft(when you press on it it feels soft). Am I watering it to much? Does it need more sun?

Any help you be appreciated.

There is a little info here
And if you Google your plant in the box under the banner that says Google Custom Search you will see many other posts about the plant, most having to do with falling leaves.

Thanks for the help.

??
Is it braided??

Check the stem where it meets the soil. If it's soft or the bark peels off the stem, IF so, then I have to be confident it has root rot. boohoo
This is a typical spot for this plant to rot. It not replant in well draining soil and try again.

Well, it's slightly braided. Yes, the trunk that is rotting is loosing it's bark. Can I remove that trunk? I relly don't want the plant to die.

Well, that's what I did. I removed the trunk and trashed it. It was emotionnaly hard to do. The other trunks seem fine and the roots too. I'll repost in a few days to say how it's going.

Thankyou for the help.
