Carol, Tam had to leave. She only had an hour at the recreation center and her time was up. She was so sorry to have missed you!

Yes, I'm sorry more of us weren't on when she was here. She would have loved to talk with everyone. Well, hopefully, next time you ALL will be here when she is.

Carol she didn't say she was going to hang around there to try and get another computer hour. I think she might have mentioned it if she was planning to do that?


Maxi just came home. He had a good day and his back wasn't too awful at school. The nurse did give him his 11 AM dose of Tylenol and he was glad to get it.

I am glad that maxi's day at school went well. But I am also glad he is home so he can rest. Rest is the best medicine sometimes. however I am so happy that there was a nurse on site so he could have his medication. I am sure it helped him get thru the day.

when my youngest was in 5th grade she had to live on Ibprophen for months while they figured out just exactly what was the problem with her wrists. (it was tendonitis) There is no nurse at this school so the teachers gave it to her.
In todays world I would likley be making trips to school every so many hours, so I could give it to her in a nurses absence.

I guess I'll go get some work done now---I'll catch ya all later, bye

Oh darn, missed Tamara...HI anyway!
Have Nicoli who has a cold and wants everything now but then doesn't want it afterall... has a sniffley cold coming on- so here we go again... sure wish the mom's of the other kids in his school would keep their kids home when they are sick or teachers would send them home.... he gets it all.

I am glad we have a school nurse too- I used to have to take off from work and go give my son his inhaler when he was in high school- he couldn't carry it- and they wouldn't keep one there for him... was a big pain... now you just sign permission and have doc sign it too, and provide the meds too.

Well need to go thaw out some chicken for dinner....
and oh yes finally got Joe to make a doc appt for his hernia to be checked out- wouldn't take my word for it but talked to people at work and since they said have it checked he will go.... MEN!
Well off to finish up the rest of the house stuff and get dinner started....

Don't you catch Nicoli's sniffle's, Nana. I also wish people would keep their sick kids home. But when you do the district freaks over too many absences here. They end up missing their ADA from the federal government with absences.
I am home for the day and thinking the wind is sucking my sails dry. I'm going to nap.

I took a power nap this afternoon. When I got up, our dinner was done... pot roasted beef, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions and turnips. Ohmygoodness, it is heavenly!

Maxi made out okay in school today and the 11 AM dose of Tylenol helped. He's in a great mood to get homework done, too!

yep, at least I was not alone in missing her visit, although I wish we could have all been here for her. She does miss everyone so.

about Joe's hernia, I think he knows my husband----and is likley related to him. THAT is exactly how my Rodney does it.

I love it when positive peer pressure works for an adult male!


I just made a nice fresh hot pot of coffee. Yummy! I made some earlier today and only took two sips before I got sidetracked and it got too cold to drink. I will pay attention to this one so as not to waste it!

I no longer try much past supper time. I do drink decaf tea at night though

Ah, Carol, I think my mom musta put coffee w/ cream in my baby bottle. I can drink it 24/7 without it affecting me at all.

Maxi is working hard on a massive project for National History Day. His 1,500 to 2,500 word research paper is due on 2/11. The theme was to research an invention that had an impact on society for good or ill. Maxi selected the Model T Ford because it made cars affordable for middle income people for the first time AND it revolutionized manufacturing with the assembly line. The parameters for the paper are established by the national contest and not his teacher and man dear, are they tough! The bibliography can not just be a straight bibliography... it has to be annotated and the annotations must note why the resource is a primary or a secondary source of information and/or analysis.

Hi everybody!

Maxi left for school late today. It was just one of those mornings, sigh.

We have a foggy/cloudy day and 39 degrees for our high. After so many days at 3 and 5 degrees, this feels like a tropical heat wave! but oh, the fog! It is supposed to stay warm like this through the weekend. Strange!

Today is "Hat Day" at Maxi's school. If the student's pay 50 cents, they can wear a hat all day in school. They money goes to a designated charity and today's collection is going to Haiti Relief. Maxi chose to wear his very cool Craftsman baseball cap with the lights in the brim.

I like that Maxi's school is teaching the kids about giving to charities.

The kids are learning a good thing, and many do not even realize.

I just dropped in to say "hi".

I am on my way to my MIL's I take care of her business things, since Rod does not have the time. Everyone have a good day

It is wonderful that you are able to take care of things for your MIL, Carol. I took care of John's aunt for a long time. It is a big help.

I had a snack after dialysis and laid down for an hour. Now dinner is in the oven. I am baking potatoes stuffed with sea scallops and bacon. Yummy! Knowing I was going to make this tonight, I asked my girl to pick up two quite large baking potatoes & she did a great job!

You are a good daughter-in-law, Carol.

We are both worn out from this week, so I know we don't have interest in anything wild and wooly this weekend.

when I got done at my MIL's I went into town, there, and I was astonished. I saw a County H1N1 Clinic set up in one of the closed bank buildings.
So I stopped and went in. 45 minutes later I walked out all innoculated.
yea carol.

Now I am all set---I have gotten the seasonal flu shot, the pneumonia shot & now the H1N1 shot.

sad to say I paid for all but the H1N1. Good news is neither if the other 2 were that expensive.---plus all the pneumonia shot cost me was the price of my co-pay for the Drs visit.

Then I dropped off my brother's birthday gift & came home--finally

Tomorrow it begins again....off to take my MIL to pick up the clothes that she is getting from her sister's estate.

Gee Carol you sure were busy! Glad you got your inoculations over with!

I needed a copy of my birth certificate, so I could tap into my pension fund so I sent in my $32.50 and received my certified copy today. The county says I wasn't born when my mommy told me I was

are you sure you do not have someone else's birth certificate???

all or most of my dad's brother's Birth certificate just say baby boy Dudley---they had to go by the dates & hope everything else was right---

Everything fits cept I'm not a New Years Baby anymore..
I lost my Mom 20 years ago... Dad left 10 years before that... Oldest Sis was only 4, so I guess I will just have to wonder...
I guess its not a big deal, but it sure was a shock

I do enjoy my age, Carol. I've earned it. I also enjoy my health and my many other blessings. Yes, life is pretty good.
