tapfoot This place needs a good old fashioned kick in the buttocks! I am seriously considering the possibility of re-opening the old~forum for LIMITED posting and new topics (There are currently 11,808 GARDENING related topics in Willy World)
IF
and when I do, the members who were here back then should be able to log in as before to both forums... (well... not EVERY member, but many banned members will regain access if they choose)
I guess newer members may have to register over there, but I can expediate that process, I'm sure.... (James?)
I have to check out a few things first...
Even after being CLOSED and sealed for years, the old forum still gets more traffic than this forum did on its best days.. Figure that one out! why
(I did and I know why...) uhuhh
Don't worry, I won't make the mistake of closing this forum... but I don't care too much anymore and if it gives me a headache, I will quickly retire altogether.
Any thoughts?

I can't think of anything original or insightful to say... just that I'm with you, Bill, in whatever you think is best!

Another place to ask and answer plant questions is nice. There is a lot of info to be had there but sometimes learning a little leads to more questions, more learning.
Do let us know when it is up for posting and I will check it out often.

It is open for 'replies' but not for new topics or new members yet. Testing the waters for a while first....

yes I do remember my first post--(still have that plant BTW) it was still nice to go back and look at it though, thanks.

so what login name/PW do I use?/ I just tried my current one--and then before that I made up a new one--the first time it said that was wrong--which prompted me to use my current one---I guess I will have it resent to me so I can check my records huh??---

My time on this forum fluctuates, depending on how busy I am, what else is capturing my attention (currently unpacked boxes), and the season. But every now & again when I stop in to see what's new, I just wonder "what the heck are you people talking about?" This would be one of those times. why

Thanks Bill - I logged in, no problem. I love reading some of the older posts, but then I get a bit nostalgic and miss some friends who have been away for too long.

When I logged in my PM light was flashing and I had a PM from dodge dated October 03, 2007 10:17 AM. I couldn't see my first post. My list only went back to 2006.

Fun.

Thanks Bill. Wonder what in the world has happened to Bess of the Piedmont.

Lately, I have seen profiles of way too many friends who just wandered away into the mist. I wonder about what happened in their lives (or here) that kept them from coming back... [Linked Image]

Since The Garden Helper dot Com was deactivated, ALEXA no longer kept the data for traffic rank and other statistics. However, the traffic rank for the A Gardeners Forum dot Com is active. See http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/agardenersforum.com

I rather like the idea of re-opening the old forum. There is a lot of information there that you have accumulated over the years.

My mistake, Bill. I scanned the wrong site. The correct one is
"The Garden Helper" TGH is indeed ranked 32K plus/68% in the U.S.

The Wayback Machine data is from Jan. 16, 1999 - Aug. 22, 2008.

When the forum first loads for me this is the thread that is on my opening page. I really like the "News" graphic that was used.

Bill, The last time I was in touch with Miss Bess (whom I miss very much!) she was taking the big art show on the road. She had also created a blog which she invited me to read. But in those days blogging was new and I didn't understand the format and unfortunately, have since lost the link...

Isn't really possible to populate these members over there (CGI to PHP was one thing, back however is another).

Oh boy James, there you go, speaking another language and thoroughly confusing me. I'm assuming that was in response to something else?
