Found this unique flower among the rest of the normal flowers, has more than 5 petals and has a petal even growing out of the middle! Have you ever seen one like this before?

I haven't see one like that - odd yet pretty!

And I, too, see that beetle - looks just like my flowers here now!

But can someone tell me why every year my pink rose of sharon stops blooming even though there are TONS of buds still on it? These buds never open, are rock hard, and are making seeds! The white one next to it is still blooming its head off!

I don't know, Lynne. Maybe it is more sensitive to lower night temps or to the different sun angle?

I don't think that's it, Tina - it has done this for the past several summers and usually starts in mid-August when the temps are just starting to really warm up. I feed that one much more than the other one for some reason, so it puzzles me.
