Found this a few weeks ago growing under landscape fabric at my new home near Olympia WA. Took a smaller version (that i found under the porch) to the Mason County extension office and the gentleman looked over said "Its a trillium, leave it alone, valuable plant" And I was promptly dismissed. Feeling embarassed I went home, then it hit me! Trilliums have THREE leaf foliage. This has a five-leaf structure. Anyone know what it is? [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

I would've guess trillium. But, since you said that it isn't, I have no idea. Looks neat though!

How long have you lived there?

Would other's have planted this??

Maybe a Voodoo lily??

Do the leaves look something along these?? Sorta???? Dragon Lily (Dracunculus vulgaris) *Voodoo Lily*

Are the leaves coming out of the thing that looks
like brown sticks???????

Jack-in-the-Pulpit: Usually has two leaves each divided into three leaflets. The stems are stout and mottled with purple and green. Has a membrane at the base. A Pulpit will rise later. Compare I.D to your plant. An uncommon find among wildflowers. Are you in a warm weather state?

I think Weezie has it right! The last picture on the link has a foliage formation that seems right on. It starts with a five leaf, then the lower leaves branch out to more leaves. The stem with whitish greenish and mottled purple is correct too. Could it be? I have lived in this house for 2 weeks. But how does this plant also get under my breezeway porch? There are 2 much smaller plants growing there.

Dragon Lilies can be propagated from seed or offset bulbs.

*same as even the J~i~t~P's.. and even Arum's Italicum's..
Here's a picture of the type of stem/bulbets like...

Too cool! I am excited to see this bloom. Thank you for all your help! It's now about 2 feet tall (pics were taken a week ago). I will post a pic when it blooms. Again Thanx!

Those are like the seeds eventually..
Not sure it they turn those colors..

If it's the same, I got on too,
and it will be the first year for me too..

I haven't taken pictures of it yet,
*we'll see if I get some*

But PLEASE keep us posted on it,
we'd love to watch it as it matures...
