Hi!
Can anyone identify this plant? It has been growing for well over a month and has fuzzy leaves and the large growth in the center that had (has a few now) a lot of yellow flowers. I know we never planted this and it seems tropical and vaguely obscene. I think it is a weird weed and want to get rid of it, it doesn't fit in our garden, but my husband seems to be fascinated with it. Please, please, someone, tell me what this is! Thanks so much.

I know what it is. I just cannot bring it to the forefront of my brain right now. I will pop awake in the middle of the night with it though. That happens to me all of the time. If it comes to me before someone else gets your answer I will put it here.

Thank you, Bill. That was what was not forthcoming. I must be getting old.
I even went to my books but without a beginning letter or something to start with...

We have that here also! I have always called it the Alien Plant. One year it suddenly appeared everywhere around here and it was never around before. Now it pops up everywhere! I have a few of them down by our rock wall at the base of our backyard. Haven't pulled them out yet, but I should soon so it doesn't go to seed and create more Aliens!!!
