Here is my thornless cactus in bloom today..Is it a pretty shade of burgundy.

Hey Didn't I send you a piece of My carrion ( starfish) cactus Like that?? Is that it?? Mine bloom Just like that,, tiny velvety crimson flowers pocketed deep in the plant!,, they will also bloom off the longer pieces on the end. I love those tiny little flowers!

Your "Stapelia" is actually a Huernia... a very close relative of the Stapelia. The plant structure is almost identical, but the flowers are different. I wish I could identify the variety but I loaned out all my cactus books and never saw them again. tears
Very nice plants nonetheless! thumbup

It sure is clap ,, thanks,, I've seen it listed as carrion starfish But a book I have doesn't show it as a carrion starfish but says it's in that family,, so I was confused for a few years why Red Dragon flower it is! thumbup grin

Mine is only about 2 years old.. 2 different people sent me pieces.
It is small . All of yours are huge .. Maybe I better take a wole photo.

I bring mine indoors in a southern window, Sheri.

I did not make the planter, but bought a few like that at Christmas Tree Shops a few years ago.

My cactus are on the window sill all year......inside.
\Old houses have sills...which I appreciate.
Especially if they are Oak.. Like mine..
