Sure I have the answer, dont show Sheri the blurry ones.

I think it is the automatic eye.. You must see it in focus before you snap.
The light conditions make the difference.......But I do love learning how..
LOL

Sheri: about the safflower seeds---My house finches are in heaven.--

if the cardinals could figure out to 'sit' on the bottom perch and eat out of the top portal they would be happy--(but no, they sit on the side with 1 perch and try &^ try to reach the opening & cannot---silly birds.

I have seen 1 or 2 goldfinches on my feeder since I switched, and he has not been back.

My mourning doves are still around but not as much--so they too are not happy

The good news is, neither the crackles or the brownheaded cowbirds are around either.

I wonder i f not having them areound is worth it in voew of the fact that the others are not here.

clapBUT___BUT____ I have plenty of orioles & hummers around this summer
(even the occasional Downy Woodpecker)
clap

good answer dodge.

Carol, I've thought that same thing and thought about putting out sunflower seeds again but then I remember the poop all over my house and think NOT.

Your little "STUMPED" bird is a Wren, possibly a Carolina or Bewick's Wren. There's a SLIGHT chance it could be a Rock Wren. You are on the extreme eastern edge of the Rock Wren's range.

About all you can say about your Blue jay is that it IS s Blue Jay. There is little or no difference in the outer appearance of male, female, or juvenile jays.

the larger Bluejays I see here have the "tuft" on the top of the head this one has very little ,, made me wonder if if it was a juvie or Female, why Some of what other's believed were female showed a picture of very little on the top as well as Juvies,, I enlarged that picture to see if there was a difference and your mostley right there is very little difference between a f and M bluejay,, why I guess this one Use Gel that morning lol lol Hmmmmm Dont think the stumped one is the rock wren the tail in the one here is longer than the pictures,, I'm leaning towards the carolina or Bewick's wren

do you know what the one is on the left of the feeder with the F Finch on it??

The other bird with the female House Finch is a female House SPARROW.

As for the Blue Jay, ALL birds with that head crest like Blue Jays, Cardinals, Titmousen, Pileated Woodpeckers, etc. etc., can raise or lower their crest at will, so sometimes their heads are round and smooth, and sometimes they have a crest.

Really cute Sheri.

Question.
Do you use the old feeders from last year for the hummers?
I did an the hummers eat for a while now they left.

I put up 2 new ones now to see if they come back?????????
Beats me why.

I tryed washing them tonite with warm water and tiny bit of vineager..However dont know it it was the problem.

I had a feeder just like that one, and actually threw it out just the other day because the seeds kept falling out, and the squirrels would not leave it alone. They would shake it and empty it in no time!

Great picture, Sheri!

Ahhh, ye have Orioles, Betty! Put out some orange halves and bowels of grape jelly for the Orioles. They like that. And that is the coolest feeder that the squirrel is in.

Betty, that is a way cool feeder and your bird nest is neat too. Maybe I don't get orioles here. I've tried the grape jelly and they still don't come.

About the wire feeder, it's just the opposite for me Lynne. My birds don't like it. They hardly ever eat out of it. It's hard to get the seeds out.

Sad

Hd goes to feed our dead brothers dogs couple times a week. THe one is really mean the other is tame as s pussycat.
We cant bring it her cause our middle sized dog would tear it apart.
So it is going to the animal shelter......Think you have to pay to do that .
