This is my little rescue girl. She was 3 when I got her. I was listening to the news when they were telling about a raid on a puppy mill in the county above us. So I went to help them out.( work all raids) I first saw her in full labor, she had a HUGE dead puppy. They had bred her with a huge 7 lb. male dotson. The birth almost killed this 3.5 lb dog. She was in shock and terribly starved. I sat up with her all night that night. Hubby would call to remind me to NOT bring any more dogs home.(yes right)
The next day she was still shocky, hubby came to check on me. He saw her for the first time. I was not in her room at the time. He came to find me feeding the other dogs and was just frantic. Seems that he had found a poor tiny dog that he thought really needed us! So I reminded him that "he" said no more dogs.
He told me she did not qulify as a full dog.lol So I followed him to the room, I was so suprised when it turned out to be this little girl.
We had spent the day telling people that she was not up for adoption as we did not know if she was going to make it.
Come the end of the day, I got in the car to find hubby sitting there with a blanket in his lap. He handed me the blanket, I opened it to find the pup wrapped up in it. Seems the leader and hubby decided that her only chance was to come live with us. All hubby said was, " Happy Mothers Day."

That was 5 years ago.

OH MY STARS!!!!!!!Those ears, That face, I just want to reach through the computer and hug her and kiss her with all my heart!

My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.

She is curled up beside me as I type tonight. She is my shadow. Unless hubby goes outside. Then she is under his feet happy to walk with him.

Just keep a close eye on her as puppy mill dogs almost always have medical problems as a result of bad breeding and interbreeding which cause many breed-related issues. I saw a show on puppy mill dogs rescued and 85% of them had serious medical conditions or shortened lives.

Offcourse, sometimes you get lucky and get fairly healthy dogs, you did a great thing though helping this dog.

Thanks Keith.
If I watch her any closer, she will be under my skin. I do not move without her. She goes in for a yearly check up and if she sneezes, we go to dr.
I have only had rescues in my life. They are the ones that need us the most. It also seems like they are always trying harder to love you.
