Well the Peruvian Daffodils are dying back and I'm noticing a place at the base of the bloom that might be creating seeds. My question is are the seeds fertile and breed true and how long do they take to germinate. I know with regular daffodils it's many years. Is it the same with the Peruvian?

At the base of the bloom/flower, lol. Not the base of the stem.

These peruvian daffodils look so different than regular ones that I wanted to know if anyone knew anything specific about this species.

I've noticed that with some varietals that things can be very different. Which was why I wanted to check.

Although daffodils do create bulbs they also if you leave the stem up will create seeds in the ovum. It's just that if you plant them they take years and years to finally develop flowers. That's how you get all the different hybrids from them. At least that seems to be what my research indicates. I haven't tried it myself. I figured I be dead before I came up with anything even slightly interesting.

Mike it's super good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well. Thank you so much for the information. Now I'm all excited about harvesting the seeds from this plant. And I'll know not to move the ones that I have. I'll just plant the seeds in the bed I'm planning to make up by the road.

Thank you again. Your advice has motivated me as usual.

Have you been making any more bird houses? Have you done any bat houses?

That's great that your sons planted a veggie garden for you.

I bet the wagon wheels look good. Do you have a picture yet?

Sorry to hear about the mower. I have a weed eater. I have a hard time just changing the string lol. Not very mechanically incline here. Good luck getting it repaired.

Take Care.
