You get so many more pretty birds than we do here. I'm jealous. I was reading the other day that texas gets the most variety of migrating birds because it is located in a lot of the birds paths coming up from the south. We don't have very many colorful birds here. Like cardinals, those are so pretty. Oh well, we do have bald eagles and I've seen more so far this year than usual. I would LOVE to get a picture of one of those.

OK, so my son and I have been birding for the past three days. There is a preserve just a couple of miles from my house and lovely park a few more miles away. Here are some of the pictures I was able to get...wished they were better.

In all honesty, I didn't know what a Green Heron was until after I got home and looked it up. I just saw that pretty bird and wanted it's picture. We've been having a great time birding and I'm not done yet! I'm determined to see more birds I've never seen before...it's very addicting, not to mention relaxing and good for the soul.

I've just recently started to get into birding, it is addicting but there are much worse things to be addicted to. We have great blue herons out here. When salmon season is here they'll be much easier to get pictures of because I'll know where to find them. There's a little lake near my house that's supposed to be a good birding site. I might drive over there today and sit for a bit with my camera. House chores first though.

It looks like it was a rough flight over the Gulf of Mexico for the Grosbeak. They like to eat potato beetles.

evidentially "[BLEEP]" is a "naught word" Thornius.

But I think it was the sparrow who killed [BLEEP] robin.

Who saw him die?

very nice pictures Diane. I used to think bluejays were aggressive birds until I met the dreaded Grackle.

I put saffflower seeds up around the 15th---The house finches, the cardinals and 1 or 2 of the gold finches will eat it--but then well- more for them I guess clap

I saw your unknown flower in the other post. How weird it lived that way. Maybe these flowers don't need all this pampering we're giving them. Just like children. Sometimes they do better with a little less.

I have that problem also----I think somehow my camera changes settings all on its own---When that happens I have Rod "play around" with the settings & then all is well--

(guess I should read my manuel, huh??) why

I need to study my manual. I lost it for a while then I found it. Dodge has studied hers and I bet Diane has too. It shows in their pictures.
