If I could just remember from one year to the next gardening would be so much easier. I have something comming up around where I had the chinese lanterns last year. Unfortunately for me I don't know if it's more chinese lanterns or weeds. I have a bunch of weeds near there too. So if anyone has a picture of what the young chinese lantern greenery looks like I sure would appreciate a picture. I feel like such an idiot asking this.

I'm with Penny on both of her comments, Tammy. We all ask questions, besides, this is the best place to ask! thumbup Googling is a good idea. Or, always feel free to post a picture- it'll get answered for sure that way too.

yes yes yes that's it. Woohoo. I was worried because it had grown all around the edge of the raised bed and the weeds are outside of it. I thought they might have crept in. This is so exciting. There are a bunch of them this year. Last year I only had a few. And only 2 lanterns. I hope these grow big so I have some for a nice dried flower arrangement. I want to do some of the silver dollar plant or money plant too. They go great with the chinese lanterns.

I'm so glad spring is finally here. It's like I went into overdrive yesterday.

That entire patch is Chinese Lanterns,
and it would be 6 times that if I didn't
mow at the edges..
Wow that stuff grows like wildfires...

And don't be afraid to pick every one that
turn orange, they grow by runner roots
as well as the seedlings' that drop..
But hey, harvest those puppies and dry/and bunch
them up and sell'em at a local flea market for a couple of bucks...in the fall time..

My raised bed is maybe a foot by 3 feet? I may have enough for one flower arrangement but that will probably be all. It's a great idea though. If I had a patch like you do I could definitely make up enough for the farmers market. Depending on how much a stall costs.
