I agree, Jess!

In our family, Maxi's too young to shop on his own, so his dad finds out from me *usually* what I might want and talks to Maxi about what he is thinking of, and takes him shopping. So they have a general sense before they shop but who knows what Maxi will finally pick out once they get there! lol

The year Maxi was 3, my EX was "too busy" to take the kid shopping. I knew that, so I decided I wasn't going to mention anything about it being Mother's Day. Unfortunately, Maxi hopped out of bed remembering it on his own shouting "Happy Mother's Day!" and then instantly was upset because he didn't have a gift for me.

I scooped him up and said "But Max, YOU are the best present I have ever received!"

After that, I always kept him supplied with coupons he could give me just in case he couldn't get a shopping ride.

We like giving each other coupons but I'm telling ya, the kid is really good about giving me IOU's also... particularly when I owe him money!! haha He put a $6 IOU on the ice box the last time he was here, just reminding me. I do always pay him back but my kid drives a hard bargain!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?

Yes. Although I'm not a grandmother yet, I understood what you meant, Barb. And your Haley did a lovely job of it, too, coloring that picture! thumbup That's what so special from the little kids, isn't it?

You should see some of the oddities Maxi has made for me over the years. lol Treasures to me, all of them!

Nice pots and feeder, Sheri! They did great.

That red pot is particularly handsome.

Love the pots! I should have Tristen paint one for his grandmas! Great idea. I will have to find the right kinds of paint.

Happy belated mom's day. i see you all got great gifts.

I asked for and received ...lumber. Yup, that's right...I built a new back step that I wanted for years. Just a flat wood patio but it served the purpose and didn't cost much either.
