Thornius, I'm sure that you mean 'in a cage'. Bet you'd enjoy seeing one soaring out in the wild!! Or sitting in a tree.
They have such stern, wise faces! They are my favorite bird. Yet, for all their fierce look, they are so gentle and delicate when feeding their young; even delicate with their big 'feet' when stepping around their young!! They amaze me!
I ain't never seed no livin' Eagle of any kind anywhar in my life. An' I don't reckon I keer to see one neither.
Have you seriously never seen a living eagle?? We have them everywhere here. I live on a bluff above the Minnesota River and I can look out my window and see them flying all the time. Very cool sight! We were driving to Chippewa Falls, WI about a month ago and an eagle flew right in front of the vehicle carrying some kind of critter. Awesome but we were scared we were going to hit it!
We occasionally see the wedge-tailed eagles here. They build a nest that is about 6 feet across. One of my brothers and I climbed into an old abandoned nest once, and there were 3 foxes living in it! They were going down the tree much faster than we were going up it. The last fox to abandon ship waited until I was almost in the nest, and he fell a fair distance, but managed to run away.
....That would have been fun to DO !!! To climb into a huge nest of an Eagle!!! I would have done it!!!!
It was fun, and I learned something that day- foxes climb trees!
Dodge, I have given this a great deal of thought, and I don't reckon the eagle would mistake Shirley for a baby eagle. They do have pretty good eyesight, you know!
Would you believe, having spent some of my life growing up in an aboriginal community, I have only ever eaten roo once. And it just tastes like any old meat to me, 'cept it's low in fat. I have also tried crocodile, goanna, skink and snake- all not too bad, but I hope there are no vegetarians reading this. I will say in my defense that I have given up fishing, because I don't like hurting fish.
I'm a research and development chemist for a biotech company. I do some organic chemistry, some analytical, and some production chemistry. Really, though, I just want to be a gardener (or a rock star, but that's less likely).
Yeah, I was thinking about a bone, but I reckon the piercing bit might hurt! It's a good job as long as I have it, but with the financial crisis and all, I think we'll all be wishing we were you- you can grow your own food!
I have seen a guy boxing with a kangaroo, but I was a kid then, and even then I knew that was not a smart thing to do. The roos are usually okay, much safer than bears. I am so pleased we don't have bears here.
I dont even have pierced ears here.. Lots of ladys do .
I am a lady.
Well yes we grow everything we can to eat an freeze here on the farm. But right now the fertilizer prices are double and we didnt order any. Cannot farm like olden days, too many restrictions and enviormentalist here.
Been on the farm all my life and dont miss town. b
Greenacres is the place to be.. farm livin' is the life for me! Sounds like heaven to me, living on the land all your life. Hope the fertilizer prices come down. Meanwhile, somebody feed the horses more bran!!
Don't blame you for not getting your ears pierced- who needs it? My daughters are thinking about it, but they are not keen on the pain factor!
There were 10 in our family, my dad need lots of room. 12 counting parents.
all went to town except me.. I found my own green acres as you call it. Never regretted it . But our son isnt impressed......Only child and married a town girl and has no plans of coming here again. Haley my grand kid is past 2 and is nuts of the animals.. Wanna see the cows. The puppy the cats.
Now piercing ears didnt jive with me cause my granny did my 4 sisters ears herself....Rubbed the ear with a piece of wool then pushed needle and thread thru it ..Yuk...........
She got mad at me for not getting it done.. I dont regret it.
