I have been getting it done every year (it is a new development area though so pretty new lawn, in truth it is the 3rd year). I got it done last year and this year because of the poor grass we got, shallow and patchy on clay. But this time I wonder how often it is required once the grass is nice and healthy. The other question I have is do I have to rake up the plugs that are scattered all over? I was thinking if we do this to prevent thatch formation, wouldn't all that stuff from the plugs eventually make it back where we didn't want them and form thatch anyway? Just curious.
