Do you have any suggestions?

Have you tried these? Were they successful?

How tall do you think they'll have to be?

If not tee pees, what's thrifty that we could use?

I'm thinking of collecting thicker sticks from around the neighborhood to use in fashioning these for the tomatoes. Last year we just had 1 thick stake & they weren't tall enough or strong enough. We're not going to have very many tomato plants (6 total). We don't have the resources to get the cement "rebar"/fencing kind of stuff, that works really well w/supporting tomatoes. We have a few of the "tomato cages" but those are short & always end-up falling over. We're going to use those for the peppers.

Our green bean tee pee from last spring is still standing, even through 4 windstorms.

Thanks in advance my thrifty gardening friends! Sarah wavy

You could try the Florida Weave. It is used by serious tomato growers all over.

OMGosh!! That's FANTASTIC! Bookmarked the site. Thanks Tina!! Now I'll be on the look-out for good sized stakes! I'll have to check out the construction dumpster near the new Red Lobster!! How exciting!

EXCELLENT!! clap

I use those tomatoe cages upside down to just get my plants started. Then have a stick in the middle of it to tie the plant to as it grows. I do not let tomatoes get to tall.I pinch them off so the get thicker and produce more fruit.
