The grape hyacinth is in the front yard,, She doesn't go out front with out a leash, because she expects a loooooooong walk if I put the leash on her,
There are current pictures of her in the critter corner tho,,

so the grape hyacinth is considered blue? I just looked out and mine have done unusually well this year tool. Guess they like the weird weather.

In real life both of those are more of a purple in a blue. I think that top one is some type of vinca.

This is a Ground Cover,, But I decided to put it in an old clay pitcher,, it's drought tolerant, and BLUE!!!!! clap

Lithodora diffusa Grace Ward
Short 6" - Plant 15" apart. zone 6-10. Spreading dark green mat is engulfed in true blue flowers from March to July. Excellent as an edger or in the rock garden. Must have full sun, and not too much water., cut it back after flowering to freshen the foliage.

that's one of the things that make Diane's flowers look so pretty is that she uses unusual containers for plants. I think so anyway.

I LOVE that flower Diane!

Just did a google search and found this - apparently it's in the lupine family.
Quote
The original 1901 legislation specifed Lupinus subcarnosus, but was amended in 1971 to include L. texensis and "any other variety of bluebonnet not heretofore recorded" (there are at least four other species of bluebonnet growing in Texas: L. havardii, L. concinnus, L. perennis, and L. plattensis). L. texensis and L. subcarnosus are native to Texas.
