Thanks Jen for showing us the flower show.
I did notice they had my white orchid there too.

Boy the purples did stand out quite a bit.

Next best thing to being there.

This year there were lilies and orchids everywhere. They were selling them in the vendor section as well. Also, they were selling alot of different succulents. I almost bought a rock plant...i think they are soo neat....but I decided it might not like the cold wait for the train so I didn't get it. It is on my "plants to get" list.

There were also alot of tulips, but not as many as usual. Tons of peonies there tho.

Makes one wonder where they got them all at this time of the year.
Florists I suppose.
Do you go there yearly?

You pay to get in?

I would imagine that everything on in the displays are green house grown, Dodge. I didn't take many pictures of the full displays this year. I did more focusing on the flowers themselves. But the displays are huge...the smallest displays are about 1000 square feet of space. Here are pictures from the 2007 flower show....the theme was Ireland. There are some pictures of the full displays in there somewhere. 2007 Phila. flower show

The Philadelphia flower Show brags to be the largest in the country and it is held at the Philadelphia Convention Center. There is a gardener's tea held twice a day that you can buy tickets for, tho you need to buy them weeks in advance because they sell out every year. They also have speakers and classes that you can take. Admission at the door is $22 but we got discounted tickets from the train station.

Oh...the flowers that the vendors sell are not cut flowers. They are potted...they also have a couple of vendors with seeds and bulbs and there are vendors that sell all sorts of gardening tools, decorations......anything you could imagine (I didn't see ANY Willies tho).

The Southern spring Home and Garden Show is in Charlotte this weekend. We haven't planned to go but maybe we'll drop by.

Yup, try to get there every year. It makes me soo itchy for the weather to turn nice once we go to the show...and let me tell you!...it was nearly 70 degrees here yesterday and was soooo lovely!!!

Oh, and Loz, another of my friends said to me that she didn't realized how "starved for color" she had been until she saw the pictures.....she was right! I was in heaven for that whole day just soaking in all of the colors and the smell.
