well, I don't know about fairy's?...and naming them. she is one beautiful gal, that's all I know. the hair, the wings, the dress. I'd name her Mia, but who knows what that'd mean in fairy world. ha ha.

I like the name Mia too! thumbup

I also like ALL your flowers still in bloom Diane - you are so lucky to have so much color still there this late in the year! Of course most of that is due to the tender loving care that you give to all your plants!

I thought I'd share a few that are still surprising me with blooms this late in the year!
Firstly... I planted these ajuga rather late in the season - late Sept. after buying them at 50% off. I thought these were springtime bloomers, but there are a few flower heads blooming NOW! why The purple color of the leaves has intensified in the fall, making the electric blue of the tiny flowers really pop - gotta love it!

Just look at these colors!!!

The oranges and lemons gaillardias keep blooming even though we've had several frosts already. And there are many more buds on them. The interesting thing is that there aren't any seeds on any of the older flower heads yet?

See all the buds still?

Lynne, so wonderful that you still have blooms. they are fantastic. thanks for showing us the pictures.

My Arizona sun gave up the ghost about a month or so ago. In fact, the only Galliardia that is now glooming is the Oranges & Lemons .
If it is nice enough I will go out tomorrow and take a picture or 2 of it.
..again....great photos

I don't know what this is then. It gets as big as a tree and has dark plum colored berries at this time of year.

I have enough leaves to cover my house and keep it warm. I'm just not going to go trapsing over 7 acres to do it. There are daffodils all around this place and it seems we're in a wind tunnel. The wind blows in my yard most of the time thus I would be constantly recovering.
