Nice growing Diane!

I can never get kalanchoe to rebloom, so I only have that plant if someone gifts it to me. What's your secret?

Lynne
Uhh No secret,, I just pretty much neglect it,,,,,, water it every once in a while and feed it once or twice in the spring when all others get fed,,,. why I've never had a problem with it blooming or reblooming,,,, Outside it was in a.m. sun afternoon shade,,,,,,, In the house it's in a east window,

Given the right growing conditions this low-maintenance plant will bloom up to 10 weeks. It blooms naturally in late winter to late spring but growers can make it available any time of year as long as it gets 6 weeks of 14 hours of darkness.(Let them summer outdoors and bring them in when night temperatures dip to 40 degrees. Then keep them in the dark for 14 hours every night for two weeks, giving them moderate daytime light. They should bloom about six weeks later). This succulent plant can tolerate dry soil and low humidity which makes them an ideal indoor plant during the winter.

although I don't deliberately do the dark theory ( 14 hours of dark,) once I bring it in it's already dark outside @ 5:30a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and it get morning to early afternoon light,, so probably that does the trick into blooming,

Don't forget to fertilize in the spring,, and cut it back a bit,, cutting it back may bring on blooms later,

Oh and Lynne,,,,,, I pinch back the spent blooms just above the first pair of leafs and it blooms again !

TK,,,,, I'm excited for you clap

I find it hard to prune because it does the leaf drop every summer after it blooms.
