Hi all. I've had the flu and been trying to get things done around here anyway. Can't say I've been very successful.
So are the foundation beds are full of mostly bulbs. The widewalk bed is full of mostly bulbs. The tree bed is full of alittle bit of everything just like I like. The veggie bed is full of cardboard and leaves.
I've brought 3 of the miniature chocolate bell peppers in to over winter and they are doing fine.
I brought one of the begonias in to over winter also. It's not doing bad but it could use a haircut. It's a bit straggly.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm feeling better. I have a trojan horse in the new computer. Doesn't that figure? I think it is jinxed. If it isn't one thing it is another with that computer.
I think today I'm going to unearth the yellow plum and the mock orange and make some nice soft planting soil for them and get them in the ground. I would love to have them ready to plant out in the yard next year.
I've been waiting for you to show up for the past several days!! How are you? How is your new house? Thanks so much for the card, it was awesome to hear from you. I didn't send out any this year but I sure was sending good thoughts your way.
Hey Fernie I sent you a really loooooooong pm to catch you up. Or at least try to. It's great to hear from you. I'm been thinking of you as I've tried to decorate this place. I could really use your guidance again.
I planted all the basil and parsley and several have come up so I've got those in the works. I planted 2 boxes of petunias. one came up and one didn't but that may be because the house isn't very warm. So the second box may come up later.
In a week I'll be planting the tomatoes, the peppers, the sweet and the red onions. I'm looking forward to those very much.
This week I bought two blueberry bushes, two dwarf pears (a moonglow and a bartlett), two semi-dwarf Cherry trees (one bing and one that is something else) and one plum tree. So if the yellow wild plum seeds sprout I'll have two plum trees too. And that's it for the fruit part of my garden. Well with the fox grapes and blackberries that I already have that's the fruit garden.
The cherries and the plum have to go into the ground so I've got my work cut out for me. But, I'm so happy to get this part of my garden in the works that even digging holes in clay and rock can't daunt me.
it takes a while for peppers to germinate if it is to cold. If you give them the 80 to 90 degrees that they like it doesn't take any time at all.
I have some of the boldog hungarian spice pepperseeds, some gypsy pepperseeds and some ordinary bell pepperseeds from the grocery store, something called a healthy pepper, and something labeled as mystery pepper, and then there is one labeled as a heirloom pepper. It should be fun seeing what comes up.
All the trees are in the gound. I'm waiting for a friends teenager to help me with pounding the stakes into the ground. I'm very proud of myself just for gettng the trees in. Hopefully they will all survive. Please cross your fingers for me.
well it rained yesterday which was super good for the trees and bushes I just planted. Of course it messed with my plans for the day but I still managed to get me hose holder up and 100 feet of hose wrapped around it. So it's all good. I also ordered a cord of wood to get me started. 215.00 dollars for my last electric bill is just not exceptable.
