When is it safe to divide and transplant pompas grass? I live in zone 6 -Pennsylvania.

I'm not sure, but just wanted to know where in PA you lived? My sister is moving there in a few weeks - I keep looking for somebody who might live close by so she has a new friend! :( I don't want her to move and she doesn't want to me either. Waaaahhhh!!!

spring after frost and before new growth, or atleast before your new growth gets to big.   i dig and divide after i cut and clean mine in spring,
