I want to introduce praying mantis into the yard. I have the right habitat for them and everything they would require, but from what I have read you can't really attract them to come, it's all chance. Either you get them or you don't.

Or you can order the eggs online or from a catalog.

What I would like to know is if anyone here has ever ordered mantis eggs and who you ordered them from ??? I would like to order some from a reputable company. Thanks. thumbup why

I don't know where to get praying manthis, but I just wanted to say I think Its SO cool you want to invite them into your yard!!! as you i'm sure are aware they are a mighty hunter. (as well as pretty cool looking). they can surely eat up a LOT of 'bad' bugs around your garden and plants. Let us know how that turns out. (I'm a bug person)

You can get them here but the season has ended for this year. It is between Jan. and June. http://www.arbico-organics.com/organic-pest-control-beneficial-insects-organisms.html .

I have really enjoyed the praying mantis this year. They are all over the place her. They hang out in my hanging plants and sunflowers in the front and on the cosmos in the back. We get to watch them close up and have even seen them catch and eat bugs. My daughter has named the two out front- Nancy and Steve. I find their shed exoskeltons in the shrubs and on the porch.
