Will try to get a close up of one tomorrow. Yes when I do the starts I will have one for you after all you told me about them. Took by to show Carolyn she took it all over the store and showed it to everyone. BTW I think something happens next week doesn't it? Don't be surprised if you get one then if they still have some.

I KNOW!!! I KNOW!!! What a great gift that would make!
Jimmy - that plant is terrific! So glad you got it for yourself!
I haven't had any pitchers on my plant at all this summer. I've had the starts of many, but they've never developed. The plant itself is getting pretty long, but the pitchers aren't growing. I do need to repot it though - maybe that will help.
Lynne has to be some reason yours did not make pitchers. Last fall I took about 12 cuttings and sold them this summer all had pitchers on them.
I use only rain water or reverse osmosis water on mine and nothing else. Have my alata's in direct sun all morning then shade in afternoon. We have had high humidity of course your humidity there should be high as well. I only re-pot mine when it has grown out of the pot it was in and then I only get one that is just a little larger then the last pot. If you use Diane's soil she posted a couple of years ago yours should do well that is the only soil I use for mine. In fact when I sell a plant I give them a faq print out as well as the soil recipe.

Jiffy cannot have any salt or chemicals in it at all. They will last for a while but will die from the salt or chemicals before long. I don't know what you dehumidifier water has in it may be pure for all I know. Just use caution and keep a close eye on the plant. My AFV's started getting salt on the soil surface so now I use reverse osmosis on them as well seems like our water in Irving is loaded with salt as well as other chemical's.

the dehumidifier water is what is pulled out of the air. no salt or chemicals. we have to run a dehumidifier in our office and pour out a gallon or more of water every day. the air is so humid that the paper curls in the copier and jams
It should be OK then Jiffy still would keep an eye on it just to make sure nothing goes wrong. Since where you work is an office I don't see where it what it would hurt to try . If is does well keep it up beats pouring good water out in fact I would use it on other plants as well.

Dodge the bull is Redwolf world famous bucking bull since passed away. The horse is Barbaro he was a champion thoroughbred race horse. He won the Kentucky Derby then shattered his shin bone and ankle in the Preakness and was eventually put down because his leg didn't heal after surgery. No I no longer live on a farm or ranch although I was raised on Ranch's in the Southwest as well as farmed awhile after I grew up. I live between Dallas and Fort Worth now.

Hey we watch Barbaro......The race where the horse was wounded.. We do all the Kentucky derbys on tv.......3 minutes of Fame.........Love it .. I used to own 3 horses...Gone now ..Old age......One red quarter horse, one fawn colored half pint. an a black mini one......
Now we switched to 4 wheelers.......The world never been the same since..LOL
Might I be next in line if you take some cuttings? Pretty please?
Oh - I have to tell you that my next door neighbors came over the other day to find out what that "VERY tall orange blooming plant" is!!! They were fascinated by your cannas - they really are growing spectacularly this summer!
I'm hoping to be able to share some tubers with them when I dig them up this fall. You know... pay it forward! Thanks so much again!
Lynne I am glad your cannas are doing well this heat this year has killed almost all of mine. My zebra cannas are a complete loss as well as my tall red ones and the small yellow ones I use to have so many of. thank for the kind words about my new Pitcher plant. Lynne it is a long line already but will try and have enough for you also.
