I think that we will just buy some BBQ stuff and go over to moms and use her grill--we don't have one. Mark doesn't want one if you can believe that.

Last year we went to his families house and had a huge BBQ, but I haven't heard if they are doing that this year or not.

I'm just glad that Mark gets a 4 day weekend.

No plans here...but I'm sure the day will be taken up with farm chores

I can't believe he doesn't want a grill.

We don't really have any plans. I think I might go to our state fair on Sunday with my mom and sister.

I'll probably throw something on the pit and make a dessert. We will probably celebrate it saturday or sunday. if that hurricane comes in it may be raining on monday. any ideas on a labor day type dessert?

We're just gonna hang around. Maybe go to the movie.

Mark is smart,,,,, If he had a grill he'd be the one doing the grilling probably ,, Probably doesn't want to deal with the clean up after,, I hate cleaning the grill grates,,, I've learned to clean them while they are still hot makes cleaning them easier,, the Grill Pan works but leaves black lines ( not grill lines ) But a black soot type film on the foods,,..... I won't be using that again, so now I rub olive oil on the grates ,, but I still hate cleaning the grill,

any way on Labor day......... I'll get pizza fixin's at the store and make a home made pizza, maybe watch a movie or two or sleep which ever comes first. ' been really tired lately,,, I'll probably sleep watching a movie anyway

I clean the grill the same way angleblosom. once I'm done cooking, I pile up that fire with more logs/sticks, put the grate over the top and all the yuck cooks right off.
I also heard cutting an onion in half and rubbing the grates with that before you cook is a great cleaning method. but, with the price of food...who wants to do that! ha ha
money is tight this week. trying to think of someway to make it special for the kids. I was thinking maybe let them grill some meat we already have and make a dessert out of ingrediants we already have??? I grill at any occasion or no occasion at all. I like to make holidays special???? any other ideas?

Well I cleaned the patio today crazy I know on labor day but it needed it

then I made two small pizza's yeast dough and all,,

seafood pizza was shrimp and crab meat with sundried tomatoes, roasted garlic, with red onions,, topped that with , ramano . parmesan, and mozzarella cheeses Yummmmmmmmy

pepperoni , jalapeno and pineapple & mozzarella is in the oven now
made a yellow cake w/ choc frosting last night,, so now I'm set for the day

I'll just kick back and watch TV / or a movie and maybe take a nap,,

who's gonna eat all that food?

I made two small ones. Not much bigger than a personal size you get from Pizza hut,, Between today and tomarrow, evening,, I can finish them off,, all by my self,,

SEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, I usually have the same problem. When you don't work you lose excitement for something like Labor Day, because to most people it's just a free day off. I'm off all the time.

I just remembered this year because Mark had a day off. :wink:

We were at my sis place for the labor day....She has her end if the year family picnic.......
Very good eating......we had chicken, ham , pigs in blanket, 2 different rice dishes, macroni salad, parsley tators, coleslaw, baked beans, cake , tomatoe, cukes, cherry salad whipped, all sorts of drinks......chips of 3 types. Some kind of crispy cookies.......

i won't touch that :Lol:
