Hello, I'm a newbie at roses, I simply love them and I am not doing a bad job at growing them. Does anyone know if there is a way of keeping the roses fresh after I cut them and place them in a vase. I know most florist use these little packets to help them live longer, but I was wondering if there is something more earth friendly. I've read that epsom salt helps to promote blooming but can you also add it to cut roses?

I look forward to growing with you all, this is a great website and I've acquired alot of information on so many topics.

Thank you
Kim

Hi and welcome Kim.

I just re-cut them a tiny amount each day so that they don't heal over in water.
