I ate my very first ear of corn that I grew yesterday. It is so sweet! and delicious and fresh. Tonight I ate 3 or 4 ears. It is very satisfying. My grandma and dad had a sweet corn farm that I helped with in summer but I never planted any myself til now. I think of my grandma when I eat it so it is very special.

Aw, it's such a nice thing when something brings forth good memories.

Congrats on the corn....

I'm glad you had good luck with your corn Tamara, am hoping to get something out of mine this year yet. It's not been a good year for me in the garden.

we have too many deer to grow corn here. I'd love to grow some though.
I know what you mean about how you think of your grandma. I'm like that with my tomatoes. my grandmother grew 20-30 each year in 5 gallon buckets along her fence line. a couple of months ago I said, 'I have to stop eating these tomatoes every day, I have sores in my mouth'. I had to stop and laugh cause that was the EXACT thing my grandma used to say! it brings back warm and happy memories.
