seeds - they self- seed rather easily correct? Some are getting seedpods all over them. If I wanted to, could I take some off when they turn brown or dry and take them to my mother's yard and sprinkle them?

yeah, you should be able to move the seeds easy enough. I've been moving Hollyhock seeds all over my yard.

They can self seed, but just to be sure you get plants, I would also sow some seeds in pots. If you start some this summer you'll have plants large enough to transplant in fall.

I've had one plant for years and this year I noticed another. I'm quite happy since it's a beautiful shade of blue also and I could never find more like it. Hoping is seeds well for you.
