Not sure some are kinda tall others are short
I think it is so pretty, and was wondering if I
could dig and move some closer to the house.I will have to go back out and see if i can get a shot of the tall ones.

maybe you could google butterfly weed and see if that is what you have. if so, they are very good to have around. (not sure about transplanting them, I've never tried it?) I move lots of wild stuff up closer to the house if I like them. I always make sure I leave more than I move incase they don't transplant well.

It is butterfly weed, but I would not try to move it. Butterfly weed produces a long taproot that will probably break if you try to dig it up, which will kill the plant. Since they are easy to start form seed, you could wait until it produces seed.

the seeds are located in the cottony part on the plant. which is probably how you got yours, it blew in from somewhere else on the wind. I planted some from seed this year and just moved them into the garden a week or so ago. I'm not certain, but I believe I read somewhere they won't bloom till the following year.
good luck. monarch's love them.

let us know if it survives the transplant.
I don't blame you for trying, I'd do the same thing.
You just never know. I've been trying for two years now to propagate vines. I do all the things I read about, how to do it, when to do it. I've killed every single one except one time. that was when I cut one too many cuttings and ran out of the 'proper soil'. I stuck that cutting in the ground, didn't even stir up the soil or add any compost because it was getting dark. I didn't even water it in properly...just drug the hose over and doused it a bit. that was the ONLY one that has made it in my two years of trying. (nature keeps us in our place sometimes).
go for it Boop!
