Shirley - Diane has Alaska blood in her, so that's why it's not so cold to her!
I'm glad you got to walk around some more and take more pictures - can't wait to see them! I can imagine how lush everything is there, with the weather.
Will you be going to the falls today?
Diane - thanks for finding that tag - so glad to know the full name! Unfortunately, my research shows that it is only hardy to zone 7.
Cedar Hill weather says it's currently 64 out there. I'd probably have on capris and flip flops. Capri's are great for that in between weather.
Oh Shirley, you'll LOVE the train--be sure to go to the observation car. Just be sure to take your purse with you. Your cases will all be fine. What station are you departing from? Everett? That's a nice station.
You'll have close to a 7 hour trip. Long enough to enjoy it, yet not so long that you'll be miserable in coach seating. The seats are great. Big and roomy, more so than a plane mom said. Be careful walking on the train, it's very shaky. If you get a coffee or something I'd sit in the snack car and drink it instead of trying to carry it back to your seat.
No Bubba's today? My personal fav. was that Fungus Among Us burger. If you go back and you love mushrooms try it.

This is the first day since I have been here that it has really been sunny all day and WARM!!!! That's besides getting finally getting to see the mountains.
I've seen so many pretty birds and flowers since I've been here.
I really had fun going to Root Beer Falls. Didn't find one little piece of gold though, at the spot I was looking in. But it made me miss my days of camping and gold panning like I did out in CA.
Loz, thanks a lot for your timely advise about train travel. I was so looking forward to eating in the dining car that I was aging to wear heels and everything (in case there was a nice looking man in there!!! LOL) but now I'll just wear jeans or something!!! And, I'll be very careful walking and carrying coffee.
Bubba's serves WAY too much food. AND, I think I'm going to have to go tackle that again after while.
I'll be glad when I get to put my photo's in my PC and edit them and put thme into Photo bucket, and put some of mine on here.
I finally got on here and just saw that Diane and Shirley are at CH! Well I see that Diane had to leave today. Shirley, I know you were looking forward to the day that you could make it there. I am sure you are enjoying yourself! I am excited for you!! Make the most of it and have fun! Enjoy your time with your son also. I have enjoyed looking at all the pictures. Can't wait to see more!!
Shirley, you can dress up if you want to! I was always just dressed for comfort...but go ahead...dress up! You still have so much more excitement to come with meeting up with your son and his family.
It's sad that Diane left today, but I'm sure there will be more visits in the future.
Hope you didn't overdo it with your walk in the woods Cindy......Is Leslie staying a while before you leave?
I'm back in Dallas........... with a glitch, ,,,,,,,,, Seattle sent the first 7 passengers luggage to Austin instead of Dallas, and I need my shoes I wore flipflops on the plane, and I need my tennis shoes for work yeah try 'splaining that to the boss but DFW ap is supposed to deliver it today before noon,, I really had a good time at CH,, it was good to spend time with Cindy and Bill after what has happened the past few months it was great to hear Bill laugh and have good talks with him and great to see Cindy be silly and have spurts of energy in doing things that would crack me up!
Shirley is every bit as I thought she would be , silly, witty, and sweet, and she put up with my snoring with out complaining once we slept in the recliner couches I think she even went to sleep in her recliner with the vibrator set on one night , Hey Shirley don't forget to take your "red suit" in your carry on on the train
Ohhhhhhhhh Yeah Lola pretty much ignored me untill Sunday when I fried Bacon,,,,,,,, then,,,, I was her Friend she flew and perched on my shoulder waiting on the bacon to fry........

remember the bus from the bustop? It's still there
^ this bus may look like an eyesore to some people BUT to me it's one of the Icons from CH, Beauty came from where it once stood

Oh and one could not go there without seeing a gnome or two scampering about( you have to have a quick eye to see them they are fast moving if they think they are about to be seen moving around,,,, ) the exception is this one that welcomed us and greeted us at the door. watch his hand

Man, I can't believe the difference in CH from the time we were there. I hardly even recognized the bus stop. The flowers are everywhere! They were just starting to come up in March. How beautiful!
