I don't know why they come and go. Thorn probably does. They stay a while then leave a while then return for a while. I'm always excited to see them. Yellow is my favorite color you know.

They fly through my yard, right over the top of my feeders calling, "Po-ta-to CHIP!" and NEVER stop......until......my sunflower blooms go to seed. Then, they are EVERYWHERE in my yard,gobbling seeds like insane people.

Me too Thorny.....they are all about my sunflowers. And this year I have tons of sunflowers for them. Great big giant ones...rows of them. grin

sunflower seeds?? They only come to my yard when I have out that specific finch feeder with finch food. I put out sunflower cakes for other birds but they don't come until they see that special food.

Arent they the mostest......Mine come daily.. This week the 4 new babies are here eating.. One is a bright red in front.....You can tell babies, they act goofier than the ole guys.

Nice work everyone.......i see them flying all over my yard and christmas trees on the lane.Theres no feeders there......They are so bright.
