Here's one from my greenhouse plants, no blooms outside just yet, been too cold. That's why I always take some pictures of the greenhouse growth.

My neighbor, Donna, From California is a phenomenal gardener. I call her the garden lady. I take pictures of her plants and flowers all the time. This year she had a whole bed of red poppies.

The dahlia is one of those bedding ones that I bought from the farmer's market, the tubers that I've started are still just leaves...

Donna puts old Wicker furniture out with rusting farm and garden implements, plants bulb and rhyzome plants at strategic locations and loosens the soil and sows a Hodge-Podge of hundreds of mixed seeds to fill in the spaces. The result is the effect of a formal garden starting to go feral......BUT IT IS PLANNED THIS WAY. The Home Association hates it, calling it a health hazard. The neighbors love it! The whole neighborhood takes pride in her gardens and come to photograph them all the time.

Thanks Loz and Dodge - didn't grow it from seeds - got it on sale in a hanging basket at my grocery store. I've never seen dahlias in hanging pots before and am keeping a close eye on it to make sure it does ok in it.
