Very Nice Dodge! You have a pair, male and female, of Eastern bluebirds. They look like they are interested in your rental property. Those are THE Number One bird you want in your yard. They will greatly reduce the number of insects attacking you and your crops.

Thanks all of you for being nice.. Heck I didn't have any idea what I had....Just found it today as I was settin on HD 4 wheeler looking at the hummers outside......
They sure are pretty.. Game commissioner gave us the box this spring to attract something???????
Thanks for looking...... I was hunting an Easter Kingbird when I found that one.
The male is the one with the brighter more intense colors. The female is paler and more washed out looking. Sorta stay away and photograph them from a distance. Next spring, you will need to install about 5 MORE nest boxes like this one, each about 300 feet from the others, and placed about 5 feet above the ground. A fence post is the best place to put them, but I LIKE what you did, putting thathook on the tree and hanging it there. Try to stabilize the lower part of the box, too without permananetly attaching it to the tree. Here are the plans for one just about like that one in case you have someone who likes building things.
Another question..Do they stay all winter? I think I have a winter photo with those colors.......
Now the reason I cant put the boxes on a post.......Our cats are there. they got into one already ......They climb this tree also ......But havent bothered this side.
Thanks for the pattern.........Maybe I can sew one..LOL
bluebirds DO migrate, but not very far. You are right on the line for year-round bluebirds, Dodge. You may or may not have them in Winter. If you don't get any this Winter, let me know and I'LL look aroud my house for some for you.
