I have neighborhood cats pooping in my rose-garden! They are not messing the flowers up, but I hate the smell; especially when they do it up near the house. Is there any plants, or anything that they will not like that can encourage them to go somewhere else?

pepper, you can sprinkle pepper around it, or fence it off with chicken wire

I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.

some people say moth balls? I used it the first year around my garden it was supposed to deter the deer. it didn't, so we put up a fence.
if you can ever catch the cat in there you could give it a good spray with the water hose.

You can try squirting them with a water bottle. I had a cat that used to jump up on the counter and did that to her. She got the message real quick. After that if she even looked like she was going to jump up there I would make that squirting noise and she would bolt away from it.

we did water ballons on stray dogs last year, it's so funny they'll stand and watch as it hits them, then they run

I used to have one of those hooting owl motion detectors. Worked like a charm...I need to invest in another, it stopped working a few years ago.
