Toposh .thanks.

It is a site to behold...Everyone can see it and love it.......It takes a geat while till it does that , but worth it. I put a Hot pink in the top center there, 2 years ago, but it isnt very visible yet.......
Care free, except the grass does pop up.

Hey fella ideaGot your bags packed for next weeks trip?????????

Absolutely beautiful! I have seen those around town lately, so I bought and planted 7 of them!

What kind of care do you give them at the end of the season; ut them down?

I put them in the landscaping, so I may not let them go totally unpruned, I am guessinf it is ok to pinck them back here and there to keep them somewhat contained?

Thanks for sharing the pictured and thanks for any info! :)

verynice Dodge. I have the same color and a pink. The Purple seems to most aggressive. and I too have to keep pulling grass out of it. Mine isn't in bloom yet. a lot of cemetaries have phlox in them so some people up here call them cemetary plants. shock

Jocelyn, what dodge has is phlox subulata , creeping phlox or moss phlox.
'David' as far as I know, is a phlox paniculata or garden phlox or tall phlox, and it is white.

I love both types of phlox and I have all different colors of both types. spring is bloom time for the subulata and late summer, fall is the bloom time for phlox paniculata. Subulata stays very short and doesn't need any care, paniculata gets tall and needs to be cut back to the ground every year. I usually do this late fall.

I have the purple type too. It's beautiful but this year it got full of some type of weed and to get the weed out I ended up pulling up most of the phlox too.

Is it tall? I'd love to see a picture. I just have red and white. I'll bet the purple is beautiful.
