When I was cleaning out the flowerbeds at our new house, I found one teeny tiny Hen/Chick. I brought her in, put her in a peat pod (whatever you call them), and she is doing lovely! :) Now what? I have never grown them. Can I put her in a pot to move her outdoors for spring/summer but then bring her inside for winter? I know they put off runners, how soon until that happens?

I'm excited about this! :)

Thanks! :)

What zone are you in? I'm in 6a and they stay outside year round here every year.....each spring they are absolutely no worse for the wear. It amazes me that they can handle so much snow and cold weather, but they do.

So if you are in my zone or higher I'd just pot it up and move it outside permanently, or put it back in the ground. They spread a lot. thumbup

I am in zone 5 and my hens and chicks stay out all winter.
I just posted them on here some where. They are very hardy.....

I'm moving this to the cacti and succulent section too, since they are succulents....just trying to keep everything in the right spot. thumbup

Wow! I checked the pictures out...awesome! Mine is tiny, about the size of my pinky finger tip when I found it, about twice that size now.

Thanks Loz...I hope to learn about 'what is what'...now I know it is a succulent! :)
