Our little town loves Memorial Day and always puts on nice events. We look forward to it each year and never get tired of what is planned.

Maxi will be marching with the band for the big parade and Memorial Service and then we'll fire up the grill. My kid is a huge Patriot, and so I know our porch will be decked with Flags and Flag-motif whirly things. He loves to wear red, white and blue any time of the year, so you can bet he'll be head-to-toe like a small flag himself.

I am also hoping to do seafood on the grill that day.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Thinking of patiotism this morning, I remembered my nephew Ted when he was about 4. He had just learned America, The Beautiful from his teacher. Or thought he had learned it.

His mom relates this story:
One day he was playing around in the kitchen, singing to himself and he tipped his head back to sing with all his heart "A merry God! A merry God!" It was such a precious misunderstanding, Nancy didn't quite have the heart to tell him the words were "America! America!"
