He just wanted handouts from you, Lynne. Does he go after the outdoor cats or do they just hang around at the same time?

Looks like my pet raccoon , Suzie Q, I had as a boy. She would sleep in the bed with me and sit next to me on the couch and watch TV while eating hamburgers and French Fries dipped in a bowl of water.

They aren't afraid of much that's for sure. I'm glad you were careful. It's a great picture, thankyou for sharing it.

I'm telling you all... he is like a small bear!!!
I've never ever seen such a huge racoon! Seems harmless enough, but you never know...

Wow what a fatty! You must be putting out some yummy cat food. Raccoons are actually (not very, but) are related to bears.

I had 6 plantings of corn this year. Out of the 1st 3 plantings, I managed to get a total of 6 ears thanks to the raccoons. I bought a Hav-a-hart trap and relocated 11 raccoons! No wonder I wasn't getting any corn!

Terry, raccoons here never touch our gardens. They seem to have a craving for cat food though.

He probably just wanted a date. They can be quite affectionate you know. My mother had a farm where she would feed the raccoons. They would come up and sit beside you. You could pet them and everything. It was truly enjoyable.
