Oh, sorry, I can't help you with that because I don't watch TV. I don't have cable or anything. I have a TV but we only use it for DVD's and the XBox. Hope it starts working right for you though.

I have HGTV but it's thru cable television, I don't have a dish or anything---so mine is okay.

You should contact your satellite provider Barb and complain about it....sounds like something is wrong with the signal.

Your cables running from your dish to your TV probably need replacing. I was one of the FIRST 20 Telephone Techs for DirecTV when it started about 15 years ago. When you have intermittent signal like that it is due to bad weather conditions, bad cable and/or connections, or bad equipment. My son worked for two years as a DirecTV installer and service Tech. When I was one of the First 20 Techs we helped EVERYBODY. I personally talked to Bruce Willis, and helped finalize the systems of Fran Tarkington and Charles Barkley. I called Jerry Seinfeld back to help him but just got his answering machine. Give DirecTV a call and have them send out a technician out to look at it. The IMPORTANT thing is to use RG-6 Cable and then no more than 50 feet of it without an amplifier.

I have DirectTV too and watch a lot of HGTV--- to much according to my hubby...LOL! No problems here- I bet it is your cable - they do get old... I couldn't believe how much better our picture is with DTV than it was with the cable company and we don't lose signal either - even in a big snow storm ... good thing to cause the dish is on the second story roof!

I was thinking of switching to Dircet TV, but then I read how you have to rent each extra box for each TV for $4.99 a month....I have 4 TVs so I'd need 3 extra boxes and that'd be $15 extra a month.

We have no complains about them.. Just this one problem and usually storm causes it, but we are going to check it all out.
My husband and son installed ours about 8 years ago.. We got the dish for free and the other stuff........Some sort of introductery offer..
We take the middle offer of $39. a month...Watch the ads and you might get a good offer for 4 rooms..
