First off......We had Snert and braided bread ( recipe was on here)......FOr supper.......It was really great ......
She has the recipe on here somewhere and I cant find it.

it has lots of pork in it.
And tastes just like a Ham soup that I make from the bone when it is done.

split peas
pork
bacon
egg..........I forgot the egg
1 -2 leeks
celery
carrots
potatoes
onion
sausage
water
aroma
salt and pepper.

It taste so much like my Ham soup and we loved it ..
Now where is the Netherlands girl ?

Hi Barb,

So you liked it? The snert i make usually looks a little bit greener, but the ingredients are the same! But i don't use an egg in it!
Here's a link to a Dutch site about snert (also known as erwtensoep in Dutch):

http://www.wereldexpat.nl/nl/typischNL/recepten/SE_Erwtensoep.htm

I couldn't find something in English...sorry!!! grin

Don't be sorry lol it's just that 'Olliebollen' is served for every special occasion and the smell of a five gallon pail full of yeast and apples frying in oil for 8 hours would get to anyone.

It sounds good....I don't like peas or beans though. I'm sure I could omit them though.

Olliebollen is like a deep fried apple fritter.
