and they've come up beautifully. The foliage is lovely, if I do say so myself, but I have no beets, just roots. The foliage is about 8 inches tall and I thought by now I would have beets. Anyone know about this?

Give it a little more time, maybe you'll see little ones soon. Beets are pretty easy to grow. You shouldn't have too much of a problem.

You should be seeing something by now, I usually harvest my beets when they are smaller at around 50 days or so.

Did you thin them out when they were seedlings?Do you know the variety name?

I can't remember the variety. It's time to have beets. I'll check again tomorrow.

How do I grow beets? My mom loves them. I live on the West Coast in California's Central Valley, so I can possibly plant 'em in fall. I get frosts w/ temps as low as 25 degrees Farenheit or occasionaly lower.

Waiting for fall...
